Work Visas

The Work Visa, previously named the Tier 2 (General) visa, is a points-based route to work and growth in the UK.

This visa enables eligible applicants to join the UK workforce, on a long-term basis.

We are well-positioned to manage these applications; our experienced team will prepare all necessary documentation for the Home Office and liaise with both the business and the employee to ensure the highest level of support from start to finish.

Skilled Worker Visa

Skilled Worker Visa UK

The Skilled Worker Visa route is open for candidates to submit their applications.

European citizens are no longer able to come and work in the UK freely since 31st December 2020. Those already here needed to apply for the settlement scheme by June 2021 to continue working in their current jobs. The Ankara Agreement between the UK and Turkey has ended, so Turkish nationals are not able to make fresh applications in or out of the UK, and those already here are not able to sponsor their spouses to join them in the UK. They are, however, able to sponsor children under 21.

This being said, EU migrants, Turkish citizens, and all other nationalities who wish to come to the UK to live and work will be able to apply through the Skilled Worker route.

Do I Qualify for a UK Skilled Worker Visa?

To apply for the UK Skilled Worker route you will need to find employment with an approved employer. The job you are seeking must be on the list of eligible occupations and, for the most part, must pay a minimum of £25,600. You must have a confirmed job offer before you apply. The visa can last up to 5 years before you need to extend it, if it expires, or if you change employer. You can apply from outside the UK, extend, or switch into this category within the UK. You can also include your partner and children in the application.

Once you apply you will have a decision in around 3 weeks if applying from abroad or 8 weeks in the UK. If you are successful in obtaining the Skilled Worker Visa you will be able to:

  • Work in an eligible job
  • Study
  • Do voluntary work
  • Travel freely
  • Apply for indefinite leave to remain after 5 years

You won’t be able to claim social security benefits or change jobs unless you update your visa.

What are the UK Skilled Worker Visa Requirements?

As explained, your job will need to have a minimum salary of £25,600 unless the job is in education or healthcare, and the employer must be Home Office approved. If you choose to use our services, we will tell you if the job is eligible before we start the process—but a word of warning: the positions that you apply for must be a minimum of A-level standard. Low level employment such as cleaners or labourers will not be available.
